I have admired the work of Gene Kloss for years. I have also been a fan of the 1930s black and white graphic style of her era.
Looking for inspiration yesterday I found an exhibition catalog for an old Harwood show of Kloss’ work. I decided to choose three classic Kloss compositions to render in color and in oil.
In their current underpainting state, their compositions are clearly classic Kloss. Let’s see how much they change with medium and color.
I’ll be here for a week or more.
